This year’s theme for International Women’s Day – #PressforProgress is one that’s close to our hearts at RiseSmart Australia and New Zealand. Working in career transition (outplacement, redeployment, mature age and executive transition), we collectively have an everyday commitment to press forward and progress gender parity. We break stereotypes just by being an organisation with 90% female employees and an all-female leadership team.

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2018, we gave ourselves the challenge of identifying what #PressforProgress means for us at RiseSmart.

100% female leadership

As it turns out, RiseSmart Australia and New Zealand is currently led by an all-female leadership team with deep expertise in coaching, sales, marketing, product development, finance and business administration. Believe us, this raises eyebrows in some circles and some find it confronting. But we believe it is a unique point of difference in our local outplacement market. What we love most is that it sparks conversations that might not have been had about gender parity.

We’re also proud that Alison Monroe, National Director, Australia and New Zealand and WGEA Pay Equity ambassador.was recognised in 2017 with a Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year in Asia, Australia or New Zealand.

100% role modelling flexibility

The RiseSmart leadership team role model flexibility and encourage each team member to create a better work / life balance by choosing flexible options like working virtually, working part-time, using various start and finish times and keeping in touch through parental leave. It’s the way we roll.

50+ years of combined career transition leadership experience

Three members of the RiseSmart leadership team – Alison Monroe, Nan Dow and Stacey Blanch are well recognised for their extensive experience and leadership in the career transition industry. With respective strengths in ageing workforce, executive and outplacement – all three have pressed for progress in what is sometimes seen as a complacent industry.

Alison is proud to lead RiseSmart in Australia and New Zealand in what she sees as a truly progressive transformation. “Coming from Sageco to RiseSmart, we have been able to strengthen our all stages, all ages approach to transition. One size does not fit all. We can now provide the personalised service, but scale it with the RiseSmart technology platform.”

Nan, who also leads the New Zealand practice says, “I see RiseSmart really reshaping and reframing the value of what has been a traditional approach of working with people in change. The word ‘outplacement’ has been around for a long time. Now it’s revitalised. RiseSmart is leading that – locally and globally. It’s exciting.”

For Stacey, it’s the support of people for the ‘new world of work’ as opposed to an approach based on what was an industrial model. But there is real progress for client organisations as well.

“In all my years of experience, RiseSmart represents the first solution in market where organisations have access to real time analytics and metrics based around the career transition support they are providing, and can therefore demonstrate a return on investment.”

Breaking the mould

#PressforProgress is a theme at RiseSmart’s core. Seeking to break the mould of the traditional outplacement approach, we have a compelling virtual solution providing equity of access and leading edge resources for all employees, wherever they are in the world.
